Rustami Emomali: Tajikistan is containing the threat in the CSTO area of responsibility
“The priorities of the Republic of Tajikistan for the period of its chairmanship in the Collective Security Treaty Organization are defined in accordance with the charter documents of the Organization and cover almost all segments of political interaction and cooperation of our countries in the areas of defence and security, they were reflected in the Plan of Activities, approved by the CSTO States and adopted by the President of the Republic of Tajikistan” said Rusami Emomali, Chairman of the Majlisi Milli of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, at the field session of the Parliamentary Assembly Council, held on July 1, 2021 in Dushanbe.
He emphasized a number of priority areas of cooperation proposed by the Republic of Tajikistan.
“It is necessary to pay the utmost attention to the issues of further increasing the effectiveness of joint fight against traditional and new challenges and threats to security. These include, above all, terrorism, extremism, various forms of radicalism and transnational organized crime, including drug trafficking and cybercrime,” noted the Chairman of the Majlisi Milli of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan.
Particular attention is paid to the formation and adoption, within the CSTO format, of the Single List of Organizations Recognized as Terrorist.
Rustami Emomali stressed that this was an extremely important matter of implementing the priority related to the CSTO’s capacity building in the fight against international terrorism.
