“We have the closest capitals. The closest culture. Common history. Common victories. Very similar languages. The most frequently meeting state leaders.
We have all this, and our task, following the example of our ancestors, is to develop and multiply it,” speaking at the plenary session of the 7th Russia-Belarus youth forum Youth for the Union State, CSTO PA Acting Executive Secretary Sergei Pospelov focused on the things that bring our states closer together. “What creates a common youth space? We have the Regional Youth Forum; the Youth Chamber of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union State of Belarus and Russia; common youth projects; joint student brigades and construction projects. It is all about the youth of Russia and Belarus.”
“As an Acting Executive Secretary of the CSTO PA, I must touch upon the topic of security. We have a common border, a common security system, harmonized legislation. Is it enough? What is common security today? It is not only military might and intelligence services. In the long term, it is about the level of education, access to technology, economy, healthcare, environment and more. All this should benefit from our integration. I think this is just the beginning. Bonding of our countries is a guarantee of our strength,” Sergei Pospelov concluded.
