On December 16, 2021, the Republic of Kazakhstan celebrates its main state holiday: Independence Day.
30 years ago, on December 16, 1991, the Supreme Council adopted the Law on Independence and State Sovereignty of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
“From a historical point of view, we have laid the foundations of a new Kazakhstan in a short period of time. We have become a strong and respected state with a strong economy,” said Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, at an awards ceremony marking the 30th anniversary of Independence. “This was made possible primarily thanks to the insightful policy of Elbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev and the selfless work of all Kazakh people.”
“Success of any state depends on its citizens. This is natural. A state with strong human capital is capable of overcoming all difficulties. During the Independence period, our people have demonstrated their solidarity and patriotism. It is rightly said, ‘Labor is the source of prosperity, the light of happiness.’ There is no doubt that our achievements today are a common victory for all the people of Kazakhstan,” said Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
The President of the Republic of Kazakhstan noted that in the year of the 30th anniversary of Independence, “new large-scale reforms were launched. Therefore, there is every reason to consider this year to be a productive one. We modernize the economy and social sphere. Despite the pandemic, the state supports Kazakh businesses,” said the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
In turn, Nursultan Nigmatulin, Chairman of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, said, “The conceptual foundations of building an effective state and a just society were laid by the First President of Kazakhstan – Elbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev.”
“Today, continuing Elbasy’s policy, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev ensures further successful development of Kazakhstan and initiates large-scale systemic reforms affecting all spheres of society,” stressed Nurlan Nigmatulin.
