Army General Aleksandr Dvornikov was appointed the new Head of DOSAAF on January 30, 2024. Earlier he commanded the Russian grouping of troops in Syria, he is a Hero of Russia. Sergei Shoigu, Russian Defence Minister, nominated his candidacy by approval of the President.
Sergei Pospelov invited Russian DOSAAF to cooperate on issues of mutual interest, in particular to participate in forming the 2026–2030 CSTO PA Action Plan, and, if interested, to delegate its representatives to the expert bodies of the Assembly.
