Serbian parliamentarians will accept the invitation to observe the election to the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, while a delegation of the Serbian National Assembly will attend a meeting of the Council of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization scheduled for July 1 in Dushanbe.
According to RIA Novosti, Ivica Dačić, the President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, made a statement to this effect.
An earlier report, citing the press service of the State Duma of the Russian Federal Assembly, stated that Vyacheslav Volodin, Chairman of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly and Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, had invited parliamentarians of the Republic of Serbia to attend the September Duma election in the Russian Federation, as well as the meeting of the Council of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly on July 1 in Tajikistan.
“Vyacheslav Volodin invited us to participate as observers (in the State Duma election), and we will, of course, accept that invitation,” Mr Dačić said.
As you may recall, the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia has been an observer in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization since 2013.
