Speaking at the II Minsk International Conference on Eurasian Security, SergeiRachkov, Chairman of the Standing Commission on Foreign Affairs of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, noted that it is impossible to manage European security architecture without the Republic of Belarus.
He emphasized that today the global security architecture is disrupted.
“It is impossible to solve the issues of the European security architecture without us. We are geographically located in the center of Europe, we suffered the most during World War I and World War II, and no matter what happens, no matter how we are treated, we will continue to promote a peaceful agenda, which we have repeatedly demonstrated,” he said.
As for the position of Western politicians, Sergei Rachkov noted that “political mainstream is present today,” but at private meetings “the conversation takes a completely different turn, becoming constructive and demonstrating understanding of what is happening in the world.”
As you may recall, Sergei Rachkov is a member of the parliamentary delegation of the National Assembly of Belarus to the CSTO PA; he regularly takes part in the meetings of the CSTO PA Permanent Commission on Political Affairs and International Cooperation and in other events of the Assembly.
