Speaking at the II Minsk Conference on Eurasian Security, Imangali Tasmagambetov, CSTO Secretary General, listed the main problems currently facing the world community.
He noted that the crisis of trust between the world centers causes great damage to the possibility of making mutually acceptable decisions on a number of global security issues.
“In the context of increasing military and political tension that we are observing in the world, unfortunately, Eurasia is the main hotbed of crises and conflicts, both in number and intensity,” Mr. Tasmagambetov stated.
The CSTO Secretary General emphasized that scientific and technological progress raises the relevance of such challenges to international stability as “the rapidly expanding use of artificial intelligence for military purposes, mass production and lack of clear regulation of the use of lethal autonomous weapons systems, cyber threats and military and space activities.”
Mr. Tasmagambetov pointed out that the listed threats to global security require appropriate solutions. And in these conditions, equal and mutually beneficial international cooperation becomes the center of attention in the field of security.
