On February 14, the headquarters of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly in St. Petersburg hosted an online coordination meeting of the heads of parliamentary delegations of the CSTO Member States to the OSCE PA, chaired by Mirlan Samykojo, deputy Chairman of the Committee on Fuel and Energy Complex, Subsoil Use and Industrial Policy of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic and Head of the OSCE PA Parliamentary Delegation of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The participants of the meeting discussed the coordination of foreign policy activities of the parliamentary delegations of the CSTO Member States within the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, as well as aligned their positions on the agenda of the upcoming 24th winter meeting of the OSCE PA.
Sergei Rachkov, Chairman of the Standing Commission on Foreign Affairs of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, expressed hope that the forthcoming meeting would have a constructive character.
“We still believe that this platform has not fully utilized its potential for the development of dialog on an equal and mutually respectful basis. We hope that delegates and delegations will show more and more common sense and that it will eventually prevail. This way, we will be able to enjoy constructive atmosphere to exchange views even on the issues where we have serious differences”, said Sergei Rachkov.
As you may recall, the next meeting of the OSCE PA is scheduled for February 20-21. It will be held at the Hofburg Congress Center in Vienna.
