Nurlanbek Shakiev: The Role of the CSTO and its Parliamentary Dimension Will Only Increase
Speaking at the meeting of the Council of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly in Almaty, Nurlanbek Shakiev, Chairman of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic, expressed confidence that the role of the Collective Security Treaty Organization and its parliamentary dimension will only increase.
He noted that security threats in the CSTO's area of responsibility affect many areas and it is important to continue looking for new formats of cooperation as well.
Nurlanbek Shakiev emphasized that for Kyrgyzstan, the CSTO is the main forum for military integration in the region, allowing the members to jointly solve security problems and maintain peace and stability in the region.
