On May 30, Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu held a conference call with the leadership of the Russian Armed Forces at the National Defence Management Centre.
During the meeting, Army General Sergei Shoigu recalled the start of the summer troops training period, drawing special attention to the joint exercise with the Peacekeeping Force of the Collective Security Treaty Organization.
“The focus will be on the joint exercise with the CSTO Peacekeeping Force and the joint counter-terrorism exercise within the framework of ADMM-Plus,” Mr Shoigu said.
The Minister said that during the exercise, the main efforts would be focused on the training of personnel and command and control bodies, and the combat readiness of newly formed formations, bodies and units. “The plan is to prepare and conduct exercises of various scales,” the Defence Minister said.
As you may recall, the summer training period in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation begins on June 1, preceded by thorough preparations.
