According to the press service of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, Dushanbe hosted the second staff talks on the organization and conduct of a joint exercise with the units of the Central Asian region’s Collective Rapid Deployment Forces (CAR CRDF) Rubezh 2022.
Representatives from the defence ministries of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan and a group of officers from the CSTO Joint Staff led by Major General Viktor Lisovsky, deputy Chief of the Joint Staff, took part in the talks.
The second staff talks reviewed and agreed upon the concept of the joint exercise, the plan of practical action, the composition of national contingents from the CSTO Member States and issues of comprehensive support.
A reconnaissance of the exercise area, the training range Kharbmaidon of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Tajikistan located about 20 kilometres from the Tajik-Afghan border, was conducted. CAR CRDF units will practice joint actions in mountainous terrain.
Possible participation of representatives of international and regional organizations and military attachés accredited in the Republic of Tajikistan as observers during the final stage of the exercise was discussed.
