CSTO Council of Ministers of Defence agreed on the parameters for the withdrawal of peacekeepers from Kazakhstan
The remote meeting of the Council of Ministers of Defence of the Collective Security Treaty Organization Member States on January 13 agreed on the parameters for the withdrawal of the CSTO peacekeeping contingent from the Republic of Kazakhstan.
According to the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation, the withdrawal of the peacekeeping contingent will begin on January 13. On January 14, Russian Air Force aircraft will withdraw peacekeeping contingents of the Republic of Armenia, Republic of Tajikistan and Republic of Belarus. The peacekeeping contingent of the Kyrgyz Republic departs to its permanent deployment sites using their own transport.
Within five days, the remaining peacekeeping forces will withdraw as they hand over the protection of facilities to the law enforcement bodies of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The operation is scheduled to conclude on January 19.
