The CIS Council of Commanders-in-Chief of National Border Guard turns 30
Army General Vladimir Kulishov, Chairman of the Council of Commanders-in-Chief of National Border Guard, first deputy Director and head of the Border Guard Service of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation, congratulated the personnel of the border guard agencies of the Commonwealth of Independent States.
“For 30 years, the Council has been consistently and systematically ensuring border security in the post-Soviet region, enabling unprecedented trust between border guard agencies and a decent level of protection of external borders of the CIS member nations,” the congratulatory message reads.
“The Council has established close partnership ties with international and regional security organizations. It makes it possible to coordinate and consolidate our actions in counteracting the challenges and threats that contribute to destabilization of the situation near the external borders of the Commonwealth.”
“Today, security can only be ensured through joint efforts. As the practice of the recent years has shown, the Council of Commanders-in-Chief of National Border Guard has made a considerable contribution to the development of efficient cooperation between border guard agencies in countering international terrorism, transborder crime, illegal migration and drug trafficking, including through organizing and conducting joint special border operations, joint command and staff exercises and trainings,” stressed the Chairman of the Council of Commanders-in-Chief of National Border Guard.
“I am confident that the Council’s work will enable border guard agencies to perform their tasks of ensuring border security of the CIS member nations effectively,” Vladimir Kulishov said. “I wish you, dear colleagues, every success in fulfilling your tasks, good health, wellbeing and peace at the borders.”
