Speaker of the Mazhilis of Kazakhstan Met with the Executive Secretary of the CSTO PA

On May 3, Yerlan Koshanov, Chairman of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, held a meeting with Sergei Pospelov, Executive Secretary of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly.

Aigul Kuspan, Chair of the Committee on International Affairs, Defence and Security of the Mazhilis, Renat Aitayev, Head of the Administration of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of Kazakhstan, and Viktor Rogalev, Plenipotentiary Representative of the Parliament of Kazakhstan to the CSTO PA, also attended the event. 

The parties discussed preparations for the events of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly Council scheduled for June 3 in Almaty, including issues related to the harmonization of CSTO Member States’ legislation and the preparation of model laws on countering challenges and threats to security in the Organization's area of responsibility.

As you may recall, in 2024, the Collective Security Treaty Organization is chaired by the Republic of Kazakhstan. In this regard, the CSTO PA Council meeting will be held in Almaty at the invitation of the Kazakh side. Parliamentary delegations of the CSTO Member States, as well as foreign representatives of the parliaments of other states invited to participate in the meeting will take part in the event.
