The aviation unit of the military base of the Southern Military District in Armenia has started seasonal maintenance of airplanes and helicopters to prepare for the new training period, the website of the Russian Ministry of Defence reported.
During the summer combat training, the equipment undergoes serious challenges due to high-mountain climate, changes in pressure and temperature, harsh winds and heavy precipitation. The engineering staff performs a wide range of activities to transfer multirole fighters and reconnaissance-attack helicopters to summer operation mode.
Specialists carry out more than 100 technical operations on replacement, inspection and adjustment of systems, units, assemblies and equipment. They also control oil levels, special liquids and oxygen, pressure, performance of communication systems, sensors and control panels in combat vehicles.
In addition, during the preparation period, servicemen will perform relevant inspection and repair and maintenance activities at the military airfield facilities.
