On March 24 in Geneva, the heads of parliaments of the CSTO Member States made speeches on the margins of the 148th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU).
Reports were made by Alen Simonyan, Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia, Yerlan Koshanov, Speaker of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of Kazakhstan, Konstantin Kosachev, deputy Speaker of the Federation Council, representing Russia, and Ana Brnabić,
newly elected Speaker of the Parliament of Serbia.
They emphasized the importance of parliamentary diplomacy and the urge to consolidate efforts to combat terrorism and extremism.
Pyotr Tolstoy and Leonid Slutsky represented the delegation of the State Duma of the Russian Federation.
At the beginning of the session, a minute of silence was held in memory of the victims of the terrorist attack in Russia.
