Talant Mamytov invited CSTO PA parliamentarians to Kyrgyzstan to observe the presidential election
Observers from the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization are invited to participate in the observation of the presidential elections in the Kyrgyz Republic on January 10, 2021.
Election observation was discussed today in Moscow, during the negotiations of Talant Mamytov, Acting President of the Kyrgyz Republic and Toraga of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic, and Vyacheslav Volodin, Chairman of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly and Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.
The official website of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation quotes Talant Mamytov as saying during the discussion concerning a wide range of issues of interstate and inter-parliamentary cooperation: “We highly appreciate all your efforts to promote cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Russian Federation, especially in the qualitative improvement of inter-parliamentary dialogue.” He also said that the Kyrgyz Republic is interested in promoting bilateral cooperation with Russia in all areas.
Talant Mamytov appreciated Russian assistance rendered to the Kyrgyz Republic during the challenging times of the pandemic, in particular, the supplied humanitarian medical aid. The help of Russian specialists made it possible to overcome the peak of incidence, he said.
“It is good that our countries maintain a stable dynamic of high-level bilateral contacts,” noted the Acting President of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Talant Mamytov invited Vyacheslav Volodin to visit Kyrgyzstan.
Vyacheslav Volodin in his turn noted that it is important for Russia to see the Kyrgyz Republic as a strong and independent state and partner. “Our countries are strategic partners, Kyrgyzstan is a member of the CSTO; this is the highest level of cooperation, so it is important for us to lend you a helping hand in the issues that you have mentioned and to do everything to accommodate those come here, so that they can get the necessary support while working in Russia,” said Mr Volodin.
In addition, the topic of studying the Russian language was discussed during the negotiations. Vyacheslav Volodin noted that it is easier for the citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic to find a job in the Russian Federation thanks to the official status of the Russian language in Kyrgyzstan.
“A better command of the Russian language is the strong point of the Kyrgyzstanis,” he said.
Talant Mamytov emphasized that Kyrgyzstan attaches great importance to the official status of the Russian language. “This allows us to solve all political issues and work together in the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly,” he said.
Talant Mamytov said that the issue of the status of the Russian language was discussed during the work on the new Constitution of the Kyrgyz Republic with most of the participants in the Constitutional Conference supporting the preservation of the status of Russian as an official language.
“The Kyrgyz Republic has always been and remains a reliable partner of the Russian Federation, thanks to many years of friendship and mutual understanding. I would like to inform you that it is our firm and principled position that the Kyrgyz Republic remains fully committed to all its international obligations and to strict implementation of all previously signed bilateral and multilateral treaties and agreements,” Mr Mamytov said.
