Tasmagambetov: The CSTO is firmly committed to strengthening collective security
Imangali Tasmagambetov, CSTO Secretary General, spoke at a joint meeting of the Council and the 16th plenary session of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly in Moscow.
The Secretary General summarized the results of the regular November session of the CSTO Collective Security Council and reported on measures to counter challenges and threats to collective security.
Imangali Tasmagambetov noted that the Council adopted a significant package of documents “increasing CSTO’s operational capabilities.”
“Amid challenging international conditions, the CSTO firmly and consistently pursues a course to strengthen collective security, ensuring the legitimate interests of Member States. In this context, the results of the session of the Collective Security Council of the Organization, held on November 23 in Minsk, are of particular importance,” Imangali Tasmagambetov said.
According to him, the members of the Council clearly and distinctly declared their commitment to ensuring equal security for all.
The CSTO Secretary General particularly singled out CSC’ Decision on Measures to Develop a Crisis Response System, calling it “a milestone of the outgoing year".
