Bishkek hosted Consultations on the preparation of the CSTO PA political and military monitoring
On April 25, Ulan Primov, Chairman of the Committee on International Affairs, Defence, Security and Migration of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic, met with Shabdanbek Alishev, Plenipotentiary Representative of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic to the CSTO PA, and Vyacheslav Kocharyan, CSTO PA Secretariat Councillor, in Bishkek.
The parties discussed inter-parliamentary cooperation and the results of working meetings of experts of the specialized national ministries and agencies on the challenges and threats to national, collective and regional security.
The joint expert work laid the ground for the formation of the draft final document of the parliamentary monitoring of the military and political situation in the Central Asian region of the CSTO collective security; it became an effective mechanism for increasing the reliability, relevance and practical significance of analytical assessments, conclusions and forecasts.
Ulan Primov emphasized that Jogorku Kenesh pays special attention to inter-parliamentary cooperation. He noted that under current conditions, it is necessary to continue creating effective mechanisms to counter subversive ideology and other manifestations of extremism, terrorism and cross-border crime, as well as new challenges and threats.
Shabdanbek Alishev shared the results of working meetings held from April 22 to 25 in the context of monitoring challenges and threats to regional and national security at the level of the Jogorku Kenesh Apparatus experts, employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Emergency Situations, Ministry of Defence and State Committee for National Security.
Shabdanbek Alishev noted that at the meetings with representatives of the National Institute for Strategic Initiatives under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic and several higher educational institutions, they discussed cooperation in the field of model lawmaking and legislative initiatives in the areas of national and collective security of the CSTO Member States, countering new challenges and threats, expert and analytical activities, as well as the prospects for joint scientific and practical conferences, workshops, seminars and other events.
