On December 11, the first large-scale international scientific and practical conference titled “From National to Global Security: Multifactor Analysis of Challenges and Threats to the Sustainable Development of Central Asia” started in Bishkek under the auspices of the CSTO PA and the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic.
This is the first analytical forum organized by the youth expert community within the framework of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly.
The conference is held at the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University and five other leading universities in Kyrgyzstan. According to Stanislav Kulikov, Vice-Rector of the KRSU, the participants will review collective security and mechanisms to ensure sustainable development of the region.
Sergei Pospelov, Executive Secretary of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly, emphasized that the focal point of the discussions is especially relevant in the context of Kyrgyzstan's upcoming chairmanship in the CSTO in 2025.
He also pointed out that the involvement of the scientific capacities of the leading universities of Kyrgyzstan in developing CSTO PA model legislation is important for the formation of the draft Action Plan of the Assembly for the next five-year period in 2025.
Shabdanbek Alishev, Plenipotentiary Representative of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic to the CSTO PA, noted that the forum fully meets today's challenges, focusing on the need to consolidate efforts to counter destructive ideologies.
