On May 18–19, 2022, the CSTO Joint Staff held consultations on improving the arming and equipping of the CSTO Peacekeeping Force.
According to the press service of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, representatives of defence agencies of the CSTO Member States, chaired by Air Force Major General Turaly Koishikulov, deputy Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff, discussed issues related to arming and equipping the CSTO peacekeeping forces with modern weapons, military and special equipment, as well as special means. Representatives of the defence ministries of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan participated in the event remotely.
The consultations finalized and approved a draft document, taking into account the proposals received following internal state consultations.
The participants noted that this will facilitate the development of the components of the CSTO troops (Collective Force) and will have a positive impact on their readiness to fulfil their assigned tasks.
