The Joint Staff of the Collective Security Treaty Organization for the first time held International Military Scientific Conference on the Improvement of the CSTO Joint Communications and Automated Command and Control Systems for CSTO Troops (Collective Forces). This is reported by the CSTO Joint Staff.
In his speech at the conference, Colonel General Anatoly Sidorov, Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff, noted that “a crucial area of development of the Collective Security Treaty Organization is the improvement of the inter-state information interaction system and control system for the CSTO Troops (Collective Forces) based on the communication system. Experience gained during the peacekeeping operation in the Republic of Kazakhstan and the annual joint exercises demonstrate the necessity of coordinating the efforts of the CSTO Member States in establishing and developing the communications system.”
Participants of the conference heard reports from Major General Temur Shahnazaryan, Chief Signal Officer – head of the Department of Communication and ACC of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia; Major General Oleg Mischenko, Chief Signal Officer of the Armed Forces – head of the Communications Department of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus; Colonel Daulet Arenov, deputy head of the Communications Department of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan; Major General Valery Tishkov, first deputy head of the Chief Communications Department of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation; and Colonel Viktor Romanov, deputy head of the Military Academy of Communications.
