CSTO discussed improvement of military science and education system
A meeting of the heads of military education, basic training and research organizations discussed the improvement of the joint training system for the armed forces of the CSTO States. The meeting was chaired by Major General Igor Muravlyannikov, Head of the Military Education Administration and deputy Head of the Central Personnel Administration of the Russian Ministry of Defence.
Lieutenant General Khasan Kaloyev, acting Head of the CSTO Joint Staff, participated in the meeting.
The event utilized the organizational and technical capacity of the CSTO Crisis Response Centre.
According to the website of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, during the remote meeting members of the working group under the CSTO Council of the Ministers of Defence discussed implementation of the Concept Plan for the Development of a System of Joint Training of Military Personnel for the Armed Forces of the CSTO Member States and the development of recommendations on the procedure of cooperation between military education institutions.
Representatives of military departments exchanged opinions regarding the quality of military education and research.
The 2025 Development Plan of a System of Joint Training of Military Personnel for the Armed Forces of the CSTO Member States was discussed.
To date, nine military education establishments of the CSTO States have been given the status of the Organization’s basic training institutions.
Six specialized research institutes and military education establishments of the Russian Ministry of Defence have been given the status of CSTO basic research organizations; they research air defence, material support, military and technical cooperation and the development and use of the CSTO aviation.
In addition, together with the Russian Ministry of Defence, CSTO Joint Staff moved to assign the status of a basic training and research organization to the Kirov Military Medical Academy in St Petersburg.
