Training ranges in Tajikistan will host CSTO exercises in October
More than 2,700 servicemen of the Central Military District (CMD) and more than 500 vehicles will be involved in three joint exercises Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Member States to be held in Tajikistan in October, TASS reports, quoting Colonel General Aleksandr Lapin, commander of the troops of the Central Military District of the Russian Defence Ministry.
“We will hold three joint exercises with the military contingents of the CSTO Member States – Vzaimodeystviye, Poisk and Echelon – in October in Tajikistan near the border with Afghanistan. We will involve more than 2.7 thousand soldiers and 500 units of military equipment. Units of the 201st military base will represent the majority of the Russian contingent,” reports TASS.
The manoeuvres will take place at Harb-Maidon and Momirak training ranges.
As you may recall, the Republic of Tajikistan will chair the Collective Security Treaty Organization in 2020-2021.
