Active Phase of the Rubezh-2024 CSTO Exercise Is Taking Place in Tajikistan
The Joint Press Center of the CSTO exercises has announced the start of the active phase of the Rubezh-2024 exercise. The maneuvers with the Collective Rapid Deployment Forces of the Central Asian Region are taking place at the Kharb-Maidon training ground in Tajikistan.
The main subject of the exercise is the preparation and conduct of combat operations to destroy illegal armed groups that have invaded the territory of a CSTO Member State.
The active phase of the exercise takes place from October 17 to 21 in harsh conditions of mountain and desert terrain. The participants will have to eliminate simulated illegal armed groups, liberate captured objects, land a tactical airborne assault force and restore a section of the State border. Artillery, assault and tactical aviation will be actively used during the operations.
As you may recall, since 2012, members of the CSTO PA Permanent Commission on Defence and Security and of the Coordination Meeting of Chairpersons of Committees (Commissions) on Defence and Security of the Parliaments of the CSTO Member States under the CSTO PA Council have been taking part in joint exercises of the CSTO Troops (Collective Forces) as observers.
