Military topographers from Armenia, Belarus and Russia will compete in Kazakhstan in the Meridian competition as part of the 2022 International Army Games
Military topographers from Armenia, Belarus and Russia have arrived in Kazakhstan to compete in the Meridian competition.
As reported by the Department of Information and Mass Communications of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation, the foreign delegations were welcomed at the Shokan Ualikhanov Cadet Corps of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Schukinsk in an official ceremony.
All international teams were quartered in the Cadet Corps’ barracks. The host party had prepared everything necessary for comfortable accommodation of the participants.
During the week, military topographers will be getting ready for the competition at the Amandyk training range. Competitions will be held on August 13–22.
As part of the cultural programme, all delegations will visit historical sites in Kazakhstan, watch films and attend sport events.
All competition events will be held in compliance with public health requirements to prevent the spread of infectious diseases.
The Meridian International Topographical Contest will be held for the second time in the history of the International Army Games and for the first time in the Republic of Kazakhstan. Teams from Russia, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Iran, Vietnam, China and Uzbekistan will take part in the competition.
In 2022, a total of 34 contests will be held as part of the 8th International Army Games in 12 states: Russia, Azerbaijan, Algeria, Armenia, Belarus, Venezuela – the first ever in the Western Hemisphere – Vietnam, Iran, Kazakhstan, China, Mongolia and Uzbekistan. Over 300 teams comprising more than 5,000 servicemen from 37 countries in Europe, Asia, America and Africa will demonstrate their field training in applied military disciplines.
