The 10th BRICS Parliamentary Forum is taking place in St. Petersburg on July 11-12. Speaking at the plenary session of the forum "The role of parliaments in increasing the efficiency of the international relations system and ensuring its democratization", Vyacheslav Volodin, Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, noted that many countries of the world strive for a multipolar world order.
"The increasing number of BRICS participants clearly confirms the demand for a multipolar and fair world order," the Chairman of the State Duma emphasized. According to Vyacheslav Volodin, such associations as BRICS have a great prospect, as relations within the group are built on the principles of respect, friendship and non-interference in the affairs of sovereign states.
"If we are talking about the BRICS, this association is progressively becoming one of the key pillars of the multipolar world, which is gradually beginning to take shape, as we can see today. The demand for it is enormous, and every country, every nation would like the world order to be fair," Vyacheslav Volodin stated.
The Chairman of the State Duma also noted the importance of sharing experience in lawmaking in various spheres.
"The agenda of our inter-parliamentary cooperation also covers issues of interaction in the spheres of energy, science and new technologies, including artificial intelligence. It is the right thing to do to exchange experience of lawmaking in these areas. Implementing educational and scientific programs, creating joint scientific centers will contribute to improving the efficiency of the BRICS economies," Vyacheslav Volodin said.
