Speaking at the opening of the spring session of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Vyacheslav Volodin, Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, noted that NATO acts according to a standard scheme: first it invents an enemy and then “heroically” fights it. This was reported by the website of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.
Vyacheslav Volodin recalled that this was the case in Libya, Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria and Yugoslavia.
Vyacheslav Volodin believes that parliamentarians of all countries should realize their responsibility in this matter and understand what it can lead to.
In his view, a dialogue on security guarantees is crucial in this regard.
“We must do everything in order to preserve peace. And this is precisely about preserving peace, because we cannot allow NATO to deploy its troops on Ukrainian territory. It is a matter of security of our citizens, a matter of security of citizens of European states,” said Vyacheslav Volodin.
Vyacheslav Volodin stressed that the State Duma deputies’ task is to prevent a terrible tragedy, to which the world is closer than ever.
“In this regard, we need to inform all parliaments so that they are aware of their responsibility and understand how this may end. Russia has something to respond with, but it is clear what the consequences will be. Colleagues, we stand for peace, for friendship, for the development of relations based on the principles of respect for one another and mutual support. We will continue standing for this,” said Vyacheslav Volodin.
