Vyacheslav Volodin was re-elected Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation

During the first session of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the eighth convocation, Vyacheslav Volodin, Chairman of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, was elected Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation on the proposal of the United Russia faction.
Earlier, Vyacheslav Volodin’s candidacy was supported by Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation.
As you may recall, Vyacheslav Volodin was the Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the seventh convocation from 2016 to 2021. Today, 360 deputies voted for him in the election of the Chairman. The State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation was formed following the parliamentary election held on September 17–19 this year.
The CSTO Parliamentary Assembly observer mission monitored the election and recognized it as having taken place in its conclusion.
