Vyacheslav Volodin congratulated Russian state security agents on their professional holiday
Vyacheslav Volodin, Chairman of the CSTO PA, Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, congratulated Russian state security agents on their professional holiday.
“Security agents serve Russia with honour, protecting its sovereignty and national interests. They fight terrorism and extremism and ensure peaceful life of our citizens. They demonstrate valour and courage in carrying out their duties,” reads the congratulation. Vyacheslav Volodin wished members of the Russian Security Services good health and success at work.
Members of the Security Service of the Republic of Belarus also celebrate their professional holiday today.
As you may recall, the CSTO PA has long been actively cooperating with the state security services of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation, among others.
For example, in accordance with the CSTO PA Action Plan on Approximation and Harmonization of National Legislation of the CSTO Member States, representatives of the Research Centre of the Russian Federal Security Service have drafted Recommendations on the Approximation of the CSTO Member States’ Legislation Concerning State Secret; Recommendations on the Harmonization of the CSTO Member States’ National Legislation in the Area of Military and Technical Cooperation; Recommendations on the Approximation and Harmonization of the CSTO Member States’ National Legislation in the Area of Countering Terrorism and Extremism; Recommendations on the Harmonization of the CSTO Member States’ Legislation Regulating Relations in the Area of Prevention and Countering of Corruption; and other model legislative acts adopted by the Member States to facilitate the approximation of their national legislation and increase the Organization’s efficiency overall.
Research centres of the KGB of the Republic of Belarus have also made an invaluable contribution to the development of the CSTO model legislation. In particular, the Institute of National Security of the Republic of Belarus developed the Model Law on Countering Terrorism and Extremism Through Information which was adopted by the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly on November 30, 2018.
