Vyacheslav Volodin Took Part in the Farewell Ceremony for Ebrahim Raisi

An official farewell ceremony for President Ebrahim Raisi, as well as for other passengers and crew members who tragically died in a helicopter crash, has been held in the Iranian capital.

On the instructions of the President of the Russian Federation, Vyacheslav Volodin, Chairman of the Russian State Duma and Chairman of the CSTO PA, arrived in Tehran to represent the Russian Federation at the mourning events.

He conveyed a message from Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation, to the leadership and the people of Iran.

"Russia mourns together with Iran. We will preserve the cherished memory of President Raisi as an outstanding politician, a true patriot of his country and a true friend. The President of Russia is convinced that the Islamic Republic will resiliently overcome all the trials and continue to steadfastly move towards sustainable national development and strengthening of state sovereignty," the message reads.

In addition, during his visit to Tehran, Vyacheslav Volodin met with Mohammad Mokhber, acting head of Iran's executive branch.
