Vyacheslav Volodin urged State Duma deputies to work more actively in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia, CSTO PA and BRICS
In his speech at the opening of the autumn session of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Vyacheslav Volodin, Chairman of the CSTO PA and Chairman of the State Duma, set the priorities of the deputies’ work in the autumn session.
According to the official website of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, the lawmaking priorities identified by the Chairman of the State Duma include the work on the draft Budget and on bills implementing constitutional changes in the Russian Federation. “The priority of our agenda for the coming months will be consideration of the country’s main financial law. Together with it, we will need to adopt 12 budget-making laws,” Vyacheslav Volodin said. Draft Budget will be introduced before October 1.
Mr Volodin reminded that Russia, like other states, faced challenges related to the coronavirus pandemic, which should be taken into account when considering the draft Budget.
Another priority is work on draft laws aimed at implementing new provisions of the Constitution of the Russian Federation.
“This should be the priority work of the autumn session that requires special attention,” Vyacheslav Volodin said.
Speaking about international agenda and inter-parliamentary cooperation plans and programmes, Vyacheslav Volodin once again reminded that “PACE and the European Parliament should not turn into a platform for unsubstantiated accusations, political provocations and exerting pressure on independent states.” “We need to conduct an open dialogue with all parliaments based on the principles of trust, mutual respect and absence of double standards, while defending the interests of our country and citizens,” he said.
By the end of the year the deputies also plan to take part in the CSTO PA meeting and hold the BRICS Parliamentary Forum.
