Proposals on de-escalation at the Armenian-Azerbaijani border have been developed
The advance team of the Collective Security Treaty Organization mission sent to the Republic of Armenia on behalf of the CSTO Collective Security Council has developed proposals on de-escalation of tension at the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.
This report is posted on the official website of the Joint Staff of the Collective Security Treaty Organization. Quoting Colonel General Anatoly Sidorov, Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff, the website reports that the team met with the leadership of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Armenia.
“Colonel General Anatoly Sidorov, who heads the advance team, informed Suren Papikyan, Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia, of the results of the analysis of the situation in certain areas at the border between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan, the main conclusions and proposed appropriate measures,” the report reads. “The parties had a frank and constructive exchange of views. The proposals are aimed at de-escalation of tension,” the statement noted.
The advance team left for Moscow.
As you may recall, an extraordinary session of the CSTO Collective Security Council discussed the situation in connection with the abrupt aggravation at the Armenian-Azerbaijani border on September 17, 2022.
