On May 27, Sadyr Japarov, President of the Kyrgyz Republic, and Emomali Rahmon, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, exchanged congratulatory telegrams on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of signing the Agreement between the Republics on Good Neighborliness and Partnership Relations.
In his congratulatory telegram, the President of the Kyrgyz Republic wished the people of Tajikistan peace and prosperity, and his colleague – well-being and success in state activity.
"Dear Emomali Rahmon, please accept my congratulations on the occasion of the round anniversary – 20 years since the signing of the Agreement on Good-Neighborly and Partnership Relations between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Tajikistan. I am deeply convinced that strengthening good-neighborly relations on the basis of mutual respect, trust, agreement and equality is a necessary foundation for further development of multifaceted cooperation and it meets the key interests of our peoples," the text of the telegram reads.
The congratulatory telegram of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan notes the importance of the Agreement.
"Having strengthened the legal foundations of relations between our countries in the new statehood conditions, this core document has created favorable prerequisites for the development of cooperation in all areas of mutual interest. I am confident that the practical implementation of the provisions of the Agreement will further serve the efficient advancement of this process based on the principles of constructivism, friendly ties, good neighborliness, mutual respect and mutual trust," Emomali Rahmon emphasized.
As you may recall, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan are CSTO Member States. The Organization dates back to the signing of the Collective Security Treaty on May 15, 1992, in Tashkent.
