CSTO PA’s Legislative Experience Presented at International Legal Forum

In his address to the participants of the plenary session of SPILF 2023, held in St Petersburg from May 11 to 13, Dmitry Medvedev, deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, called it “the most representative forum in its history.”

“Rule of law, respect for the sovereignty of states serve as a solid foundation for a more equitable and democratic emerging multipolar world order,” said Russian President Vladimir Putin in his address to the participants of the 11th Forum, himself a graduate of the Law Department of St Petersburg State University.

On May 13, the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly’s legislative experience was presented at the section Legal Mechanisms for Integration in the Post-Soviet Space.

“In contrast to the European directive and coercive approach, CSTO’s legal space continues to be based on truly democratic principles of development and ensuring legal sovereignty of its Member States,” Sergei Pospelov, CSTO PA Executive Secretary, stressed in his speech at the Legal Forum.

As you may recall, the St Petersburg International Legal Forum is the largest platform for dialogue between representatives of the legal, business, political and law enforcement communities on legal issues.
